GPA Appalachian Regional Port's Automated gate Go Live!
The Appalachian Regional Port will be the new gateway for Georgia Ports Authority. It creates a new gateway to the Port of Savannah, opening additional markets in Alabama, Tennessee, whilst avoiding 8 million truck miles annually.
The ARP is part of the "Network Georgia" program designed to create inland terminals throughout the state of Georgia to reduce intermodal truck traffic and provide greater rail capacity to the Southeast.
CERTUS Port Automation has contributed to automating the gate processes of trucks and containers entering and leaving the port by installing its state of the art Automated Gate Solution.
Via OCR the Appalachian Regional Port will experience fast and efficient automated registration and handling processes, whilst maintaining a high accuracy rate and safe work environment.
